I can't seem to post images on any Board this morning .

Hi both,

Thanks for flagging.

We're aware of this issue and we're currently investigating it on our end. We're working to resolve it as quickly as possible, and we'll update here as soon as we have any more information.

Thanks for bearing with us in the meantime.

Hi both,

Thanks for your patience. The underlying issue has now been resolved, and the images you previously tried to upload should now be visible. Any new images you upload should also work as expected.

Please let us know if you have any further problems. Thanks!

Hi @Sophiecunninghamsfinger,

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. Are you still having issues uploading images?

AmeliaPMumsnet · 22/07/2026 13:24

Hi @thehardestpartis,

Can I check if you're trying to post them from the app or on the website?

Thanks!

AmeliaPMumsnet · 23/07/2026 10:27

Hey @thehardestpartis,

Just checking in on this. Would it be possible to share with me a link to one of your posts where you tried to upload an image and it didn't work?

@AmeliaPMumsnet, even weirder! It’s posted fine on here but still not showing on the thread! 🤔

This is very strange indeed @jeffgoldblum. I've taken a look and can't see an image attached to any of your posts in that thread, so it doesn't look as though it's waiting to be reviewed.

I can see you're posting from the app rather than the website. Could you let me know which version of the app you're using? You can check this by opening the Mumsnet app, tapping the profile menu in the top right hand corner, and looking at the bottom of the menu where you'll see the app version.

Thanks!

@AmeliaPMumsnet I tried to post a photo on a thread (about my cat having a dental, nothing dodgy) in the Litter Tray last night and kept getting a message saying it was too big. Weirdly another picture - of the same cat, taken two minutes earlier, with the same camera - posted fine.

Hi @Judystilldreamsofhorses,

Thanks for reaching out! That error message usually relates to the file size (in MB) rather than the dimensions of the image itself.

Even two photos taken seconds apart on the same camera can end up being different sizes. For example, a close-up of fur or different textures can be harder to compress than a simpler image, which can make the file larger even though it looks similar.

One thing that may help is taking a screenshot of the image you're trying to upload and then uploading the screenshot instead. Screenshots are often lower resolution than the original photo, which might reduce the file size enough for the upload to work.

Morning @jeffgoldblum,

Thanks for sharing. We can reassure you that there's nothing different about the way images are handled on the Royal Family topic, or indeed on any other topic.

What I think has happened here is that the images you've uploaded have been checked by our automatic review system, and some have then been flagged for a manual review before being approved. That would explain why they've taken a little longer to appear on your posts.

Hopefully that helps explain what you've been seeing, but let us know if you notice anything else that doesn't seem right.
