Hello, today I have had 2 emaill notifications that the OP of a thread I am watching has just posted. I have never been signed up for email notifications and it's only happened today. Please can you stop this.

You need to go to your settings. You can choose what you want or don’t want to receive

I have never been signed up for any emails. Checked it a couple of hours ago that nothing had changed in my settings, then got another email. It looks like a blip.

Yes I get this too - not just two but sometimes loads! I’m not interested in getting emails from Mumsnet and there are weeks when I don’t get anything then suddenly it starts up again. I don’t see a way of turning this off. MN can you tell us how?

KellyMumsnet · Today 09:54

Morning, everyone.

Thanks for letting us know about this. There are two 'types' of email you might get like this. Firstly, the newsletter sort such as 'Swears By' and 'Talk Round up' which you have to actually sign up to in order to receive (though you can unsubscribe whenever you like) and secondly, notification emails where you get an email if, for example, someone mentions you, quotes you, an OP replies on a thread you are following, amongst other things.

It sounds like you're talking about the second type @Ohthisheat ? And that should be possible to change in Settings > Notifications. Here's a link: https://www.mumsnet.com/settings/notifications?view=email. It sounds like this might not be working as it should for you though. Would you mind going through all the toggles here and toggling them off/on and then back to whatever situation you want, and then saving the settings using the button at the bottom again. They might just need resetting. If, after that, you're still getting notifications that you've not selected, drop us a line again and we'll investigate further.

Thanks @KellyMumsnet I did that yesterday after the first email arrived and still got the second email . Anyway I have just done it again. Because there have only been 2 emails and I haven't changed the settings since signing up, I suspect a blip in the system.
