Useless AI thread titles

So, MNHQ, is there any point to the AI titles? All the ones that have been suggested to me are long-winded and waffly, and do not reflect what I want to say. I can write my own, thank you very much. (The suggested title for this thread is "Are AI thread title suggestions useful or just unnecessary site clutter?" What a load of waffle!)

I have also seen threads where the title is somewhat misleading, and it turns out the OP mistakenly added the AI title instead of their own.

Plus, what a waste of resources! AI is known to be environmentally-unfriendly in a number of ways, including the huge number of data centres proposed to prop it up. Do auto-generated thread titles warrant this wastefulness, when posters are perfectly capable of writing their own?

Does anyone actually like these, or find them useful?

OMG I thought it was just me! They're so annoying. It generated one halfway through my post the other day and it was three lines long and basically a total rewrite of the post but with one major inaccuracy. I accidentally tapped it and couldn't get rid of it, so I had to scrap the whole post.
Then I tried to rewrite my post today and AI jumped in again and it came up with an entire sentence that was way off-base.
I feel like the AI thread title suggestions are like that random man whose comments are never wanted.
I mean, did anyone actually ask for this feature and was anyone struggling with thread titles before the AI random man showed up? Because I remember thread titles being a lot more interesting and creative whereas now half the time I don't need to click a thread because the thread title says it all (and that's got to be bad for engagement).

@Darragon AI random man Grin

I tried to copy and paste the long thread title to quote within the body of my post (it wouldn't copy) and just realised in time that doing this had swapped it into my own thread title. Hmm
