Hello.

It's been noted in the past that there are some pretentious wankers amongst us who like to discuss some general subjects (eg.Porn, Religion) in a fairly, erm.. academic manner, and that this sometimes seems to intimidate and/or infuriate other posters.

There doesn't seem to be an easy solution to this problem: there's no doubt that people really do feel intimidated and that it might prevent them from posting on a subject that concerns them. It also must feel hijack-y at times.

At the same time, it's hard for the Wanker's to be told that they mustn't post anything that might intimidate.

Would it be possible to have a special place, with very hard chairs to keep us awake, that we may call our own?

You'll have to have the very dismissive JOTBO acronym.

Can I add an important stipulation - this Wankers' Corner Seminar Room of which we speak would be a place for Anyone Who Feels A Wank Coming On, every now and then.

There would be no need to have any specialist knowledge, or particular educational background, or indeed any education at all.

It would be a place for all posters who were interested in looking beyond the surface, and towards an understanding of why or how - with the vital proviso that no-one would be mocked for same.

Have I asked for more corners and forgotten about it midnight? It's quite possible.

as would people who say "Ive had a hard day so stop picking on me"
or
"You know nothing about my life"

I think wankers' corner should perhaps have different Academies of Wank or Colleges of Arse.

So you could have St Constantinus College for those who use Latin turns of phrase.

They might often feel compelled to say "Infra DignaTAte" and then snort phwaw phwaw phwaw!

Also you could have St Egregious College for the Nauseously Sincere and Mawkish.

Also, as an alternative to being 'sent to Coventry' being told to 'take it to Wanker's corner' would be unecological - it's a long way to Oregon for most Mumsnetters.

ipanemagirl, interestingly, I was tempted to petition for a Cunts' Corner, but for some reason that I forget I decided against.

St Cunt's has many excellent pedagogues on its roll, I believe.
