Site keeps freezing

The site keeps freezing or it only loads half a page then freezes.

I've been having trouble for ages with the site not returning to the place Ive left when i click return after reading a thread. It can return anywhere in Active.

But this freezing us only since last night. I have to come out if MN and reload but that dosnt always work.

Me too. Have just tried clearing cache for MN so see if that works.

Tried that made no difference.

Can hardly use site now.

God thought it was my phone, like that most of yesterday, whole page only half loads then freezes. Can't even click on anything and have to come right out and back in again.

Same here. Macbook using Chrome. Loads the page then freezes.

Me too. Android using Chrome. Closing chrome and reopening gets it working again, only for it to happen again. Possibly an ad failing to load, you can't see the thread until the add loads, but it won't load, so frozen screen.

It works fine on Opera which completely blocks the adverts.

Freezes for me too. Started a couple of days ago. It's these adverts at the top. I have to close all open tabs and try to avoid pages with ads at the top. Android.

Me too, also Android running Chrome. @MNHQ can you look into this please?

The problem seems to be the Vivaia ad at the top of the screen. At least that is what I was seeing when the screen froze last time.

This has been happening for a few days for me. I was blaming my phone so it's reassuring to see others having the same problem. I'm at the point now it's causing me so much irritation I CBA to use the site

Hi @Megsdaughter thanks for letting us know that you're experiencing these issues - we understand how frustrating this must be. We know a number of you have been experiencing ongoing site freezing problems and we're still investigating this issue.

Are there any specific ads that are cropping up when the site freezes or does the page stop loading before the ad appears?

I have provided a screen shot. However, it's now happening with a variety of ads.

Same here - just freezing and not loading. Just checked my internet connection thinking that was the issue.

Variety of ads from what I can tell but sometimes freezes before I can see.

It's happening all the time now. I think it's that PWC ad.

Is it not possible for MN to make money from static ads? Do they need to be such annoying ones?

Mine's sorted itself out. No doubt it will come back now I've said that! But the ads seem a lot less invasive too.
