Which thread?

1shoe · 22/06/2008 22:48

well I can't say cant I , that is the point. I don't normally get up tight about such things. n=but is the stuff of nightmares. so how do I hide it so I never see it?

Maybe you should hide the whole topic. News is often horrific, we can't have the in the news discussions only talking about nice things. Wouldn't be an accurate reflection of reality.

SaintGeorge · 22/06/2008 22:51

You can either use this link to hide the whole topic or click hide at the top of the individual thread. Unfortunately that means opening the thread (hmm, design flaw there methinks MNHQ)

1shoe · 22/06/2008 22:55

i don't want to hide the topic. as keep waiting for a thread on mugabee.
but I do not want to keep seeing that thread.
I clicked hide(opened thread) but still there.

the hide only removes it from active convos. so means I can't access the news topic.

I see what you mean - I didn't realise that hiding it only removes it from Active Conversations.

MissingMyHeels · 22/06/2008 22:59

Why don't you start the thread in Mugabe and then it'll be in threads I started and you won't have to look in the topic.

wessexgirl · 22/06/2008 22:59

Why don't you start a Mugabe thread?

Job done.

(I know the thread you mean though - even after hiding it on first sight, you're stuck with a mental image you'd really rather have lived without ).

SaintGeorge · 22/06/2008 23:01

I didn't realise about the active convo thing either.

But then, I never noticed the hide option at the end of the thread title either, so you don't have to open the thread

1shoe · 22/06/2008 23:03

i don't normally hide threads. as I am very rarely disgusted. but that one is sick.
I would start thr thread but I am useless at politics

OP posts:
1shoe · 22/06/2008 23:09

have started thread and added it to watch. just hope there are no interesting news stories whils that one is still there.

I know which thread you mean, and there have been loads of news stories to this effect lately, I'm not sure if I want to know about them or not.

Got berated by an ex-social worker in a pub toilet for remarking to a friend that I would rather not know, she had a right rant and had resigned from her job because of the horror she saw but could do nothing about (she was not agressive or anything). I could see her point that people should be forced to see the truth of what happens to some children, or nothing will ever change. Although I do agree the in question thread title could have been a little less descriptive.

2shoes · 23/06/2008 10:48

i don't want to see a thread title like that. same reason I don't read the sun.
