I cant find the earlier threads on this and thought it had been sorted.

But same problem as before.

ie go to a thread or click on notifications, page starts loading and then it just hangs.

Sometimes page is only half load, sometime the whole page has loaded, but links aren't clickable.

Only option is to close site, and tab, and open in a new website.

Why has this started happening again.

Bad yesterday. Have only been on site about 30 minutes today, and it has happened 3 times.

Okay that's it. Not going to bother trying to use MN today.

Same old message:

This page is slowing down Firefox. To speed up your browser, stop this page.

As before this is happening because:

This message means a script (like an advertisement, animation, or tracker) on the website you are viewing is stuck or taking too long to load.

Firefox is warning you that the website is causing a performance bottleneck and is giving you the option to kill the script to restore normal browsing.

It’s your WiFi that’s likely the issue

No! As I posted it is about MN's web site. It is because:

the website you are viewing is stuck or taking too long to load.

It happened before, but then it is happening again.

If it was my wifi it would happen on other web sites I visit, but none of them do.

It’s the ads. It’s always the ads.

Why would the WiFi only have trouble with one website?

Although strangely on the days when it doesn't just grind to a halt and I am waiting, waiting, waiting to go to the link I have clicked on, at the bottom left of my screan I can see their internal links that it goes through before being kind enough to let me get to mt link, and the big delay is analytics.tiktok!!

???? Confused

According to AI:

What it is: A website owner installs TikTok analytics to measure how successful their marketing campaigns are. Every time you click a page or take an action, the site fires a background request to send this data to TikTok.

Why the delay: Your browser essentially says, "I'll load the new page as soon as TikTok confirms they've registered this click." If TikTok's server is slow, your page load pauses.

How to block it: If you dislike third-party tracking, you can block these background requests using browser extensions like uBlock Origin, Adblock Plus, or built-in privacy tools on browsers like Brave Browser or Firefox.

Which may be true but why would MN have tiktok analytics installed?

I use Adblockers and still get the slow load sometimes sadly.

I didn't change any of my settings, and found much later in the day yesterday that everything was fine!

Just started to check on notifications etc., today. Will see how it goes.

Today has been fine, until 5 minutes ago when I got the page slow to load

Have now looked at my cookies cache and mumsnet has triple the number of cookies saved to my browser, compared to other sites I visit regularly. (I cleared all cookies at the weekend.)

Have now blocked any mumsnet cookies from being saved and will wait to see what happens.

OP posts:
IwantToRetire · Today 01:58

Well what happens is you cant sign into mumsnet.

So although free it now seems you have to accept and enourmous number of cookies.

This didn't happen before.
