404 Bad Request

Rhaidimiddim · 14/05/2026 13:33

I'm getting a 404 Bad Request message when I attempt to access Mumsnet on my Android mobile.

Is this the right place to draw MN's attention to the problem, so that their IT department can look at it?

Yes me too when I use the ecosia browser. It's ok on chrome.

CheshireSplat · 14/05/2026 17:35

I've had this so much for weeks now. Deleting cookies hasn't helped and I've had to download the app which I don't like as much. On Chrome.

Yummybananas · 14/05/2026 17:36

I'm getting it too and can now only use Mumsnet on incognito browsing 🤷‍♀️

Same

I can't access this site at all on my mobile due to this error. I have to use my tablet. Strange.

itsallabouttheorange · 14/05/2026 17:40

me too, on my PC using Chrome, it's ok with explorer though, it has been a few days now. Sometimes the first page works but the trending box is broken, but then I click on any link and get the 404, but sometimes it's when I first enter the site

OddBoots · 14/05/2026 17:41

I have been having this too the last few days. Chrome browser on Android mobile.

Chasbo · 14/05/2026 17:41

I've been having this issue on my phone too.

ShinyBlueTractor · 14/05/2026 17:43

Me too. Can't get in via google search or chrome.

Slowfaded · 14/05/2026 17:45

Deleting cache worked for me.

SharonEllis · 14/05/2026 17:53

Me too. I cant look at my notifications at all. Its driving me mad!

Thank you everybody for letting me know I'm not the only one.

Dartmoorcheffy · 14/05/2026 18:42

Mine was doing this for days. I deleted the browsing history, cookies and cache.

SueSheeMee · 14/05/2026 18:45

There are multiple threads about this in Site Stuff, but the irony is you probably can't see them because of the errors every time you try and read something! It's been completely unusable for me for days now, even with multiple attempts at cache clearing, other then when I use incognito mode on my phone's Chrome browser.

I just did this covering the past 7 days and mine's working normally now.

CrazyCatMam · 14/05/2026 19:17

Same here. I can't vote or see just the OP's post. Each time I try I get a link to log in, then an error message. It's been weeks now! So annoying.

How do I do this please

I think it explains it in the very long running thread below in this topic, it depends on what device you're using

I will try this.

I tried it and it worked. Settings > Apps > Chrome. Then tap on Clear Cache.

Yay! Glad it worked 😊

SharonEllis · 14/05/2026 21:49

Mmm, doesn't work for me.

alexdgr8 · 15/05/2026 07:49

Mine doesn't have that pathway of options.
I have to keep logging on each time through incognito.
A bit tiresome.
I don't usually log out.
So lucky I've got auto fill or I'd have to invent a new password as well each time. Sigh.
Esp when they MN start sending me emails and I have to cancel that...

GentleSheep · 15/05/2026 07:52

Yes me too. Have only managed to access the site via using a Private browsing window. Otherwise it's just continuous 400 errors.
