Welcome emails spam

Not sure if this comes under Site stuff but probably the most relevant topic for it…
I signed up to Mumsnet in 2022 but haven’t been active for years. As far as I can tell, I was never subscribed to any newsletters.

In the last 3 days I’ve got daily “welcome” emails from MN, that seem to point out basic stuff like how to create threads, use search function etc. Basically marketing for new users.
There’s a link at the bottom that says “unsubscribe here”, which I tried to click but it just takes me to Active. If I go to Settings, there’s no such thing as a Welcome emails mailing list and I’m unsubscribed from everything else.

What’s the best way to unsub from these, as at the rate of 1 email/day it’s just spam? Surely not being able to unsub from marketing email lists is a big GDPR no-no?

We're sorry to hear you've been receiving unwanted emails.

You can adjust your email preferences in talk settings, but we've removed you from all emails now and so you won't receive any further emails.

I’m getting these emails too, I’ve been on here for many years, actively posting, so I don’t need to have it explained to me how to watch a thread!

I’m the same. Been here a long time and got an email welcoming me to Mumsnet and how to use the site 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes, I’ve also received similar emails which I thought strange as I’ve been active here for several years.

Yes, I had the same yesterday. I have been here 20 years. I have had several new member emails over the last few days.

Same. It’s super annoying.

Same here. The unsubscribe link needs sorting at the very least.

Sounds as if there is an error in the Mumsnet automatic email system.
I haven't received one of these emails.

Hi @LilyMumsnet, thanks for looking into this so quickly and unsubscribing me.

For context, I only use MN on my iPhone in Safari.

When I go to Talk Settings, there’s no option to update email settings.

There’s a separate tab called Newsletters, but as I mentioned, it’s showing I’m unsubscribed from all of those, and these are the only lists I can see:
Mumsnet Campaigns
Mumsnet Voices
Money saver
Mumsnet Daily
Swears By
Talk Round Up
Weekly Hot Threads
Weight Loss

The emails I received had the following subject lines:
Love free stuff and sharing your opinion?
There's more awaiting just for you
When you're logged in

At the bottom of these emails there’s a line:

If you want to unsubscribe from our Welcome emails you can do so here.

But the link doesn’t work, it just takes me to Featured.
