How can I edit or delete a message?

You can only delete a post via asking Mumsnet by email. You can edit for a brief period after posting but then not after that. If you mean a private message I’m not sure how to delete for the recipient

If you are talking about editing a post on a thread then you click on the 3 dots at the top right of the post and you will see the edit function. But you only see it for 5 minutes after you posted and after that it's impossible to edit it yourself. You would need to contact MN to get the post edited after that.

As pp said only MN can delete posts and presumably private messages

You can delete PMs yourself and it deletes “both ends”.
