Slate coasters a threat? Really?

What on earth is wrong with me attempting to upload pictures of slate coasters? This is hardly porn.

That's mad.

ChickpeaCauliflowerSalad · 22/03/2026 13:46

🤣🤣

you wrong'un you! Slate coasters are a gateway!

plims · 22/03/2026 13:49

Slate coasters are immoral, tbh. I can’t believe you would want to upload an image of them in the first place.

Kitterkitkat · 22/03/2026 13:53

🥰 utter madness!

NormasArse · 22/03/2026 13:56

I s’pose they could be used as weapons, but so could anything when you’re really cross.

Kitterkitkat · 22/03/2026 13:56

They'd probably let it through if I put a pic of me in nipple hassles. But slate coasters, nooooi

Perhaps it was the "cock" part of "peacock" that triggered something automated?

PennySweeet · 22/03/2026 13:57

Were they designed by a man?

Kitterkitkat · 22/03/2026 14:00

Well here is one of the deviant items. If they let it through...

OP posts:
Kitterkitkat · 22/03/2026 14:12

Nope can't upload it. I was only asking how to clean them before they're wrapped as a present.

I won't bother in future! I hardly thought I was buying a deadly weapon, it's just something to put your cup onto for giftee.

Oh well I've wiped them down now and will package nicely once dry. I'm sure MN would have something to say about ribbo s. STRANGULATION or whatever

All photos are previewed because somebody deliberately posted some awful illegal images on several occasions. I am sure that someone from MNHQ will be along to explain. It takes longer at the weekend.

Hope so, that was really puzzling

I'm pretty sure they're auto filtered and when they don't get through, then a moderator will take a look.

I've seen similar in the past where an innocent photo hasn't made it through until it was looked at by a human.

HebeMumsnet · 22/03/2026 20:33

Hi there @Kitterkitkat . Sorry - yes, PPs are correct. Lots of images require them to be approved by a moderator first these days after some rather nasty incidents a while back. It's usually pretty quick (unless you posted an image of your slate coasters in flagrante delicto, of course). Have they appeared yet? If not, just shout here and we'll have a (cautious) look.

Kitterkitkat · 22/03/2026 21:54

Haha! No they're just something to put your drink on, no sexy unicorns etc. I'll go and have a look to see if they're up.

Someone suggested wiping them down with a damp cloth, think they're dry now as I did it cautiously

OP posts:
Kitterkitkat · 24/03/2026 08:50

@HebeMumsnet what on earth is wrong with putting up pictures of slate coasters?

OP posts:
HebeMumsnet · 25/03/2026 10:01

Morning @Kitterkitkat. We've had a look and it doesn't look like the photos ever uploaded properly. They're not waiting to be approved or anything... Can we ask what happened when you attached the photo? Did it look like it went through properly?

If you have a moment and can try uploading the pic here again and can tell us what happens when you do, we'll take another look!

StellaAndCrow · 25/03/2026 10:10

Yes I agree with Hebe. If you've uploaded correctly, your post shows that an image is awaiting approval.

I'll do it now so you can see (though apologies for more work Hebe and filter)

When you upload, there's also a tick box you can complete if you think the image might be sensitive - presumably this automatically flags it for review.

Slate coasters a threat? Really?
StellaAndCrow · 25/03/2026 10:11

You should see a message saying "Your images are currently under review. Please check back later".
That's standard - they'll usually appear not long later.

StellaAndCrow · 25/03/2026 10:12

That was quicketty-quick!

REP22 · 25/03/2026 10:24

Maybe Slate Coasters is a US porn actor? Sorry Mr. Coasters, your "acting" is atrocious.

We use something called 'slate oil' for our slate hearth. The installer gave it to us when it was fitted - about 2" in the bottom of a jam jar - nearly 30 years ago. We're still using the same stuff as you only need a tiny drop for the whole area, so it might get a bit messy with coasters...
