Amazon Carpe Diem Advert - it's back.

Back along, the "Carpe Diem" Amazon advert was reported to @mumsnetas it was too big/intrusive and we were accidentally opening it whilst scrolling. There were a fair few of us complaining about it as it ruined the experience of reading a thread and eventually you said it had been blocked. Well, it's back and as annoying as last time.

Thought I had taken a screenshot but it appears not so will try again next time I'm on. Please ban it again it makes using Mumsnet a PITA.

Ah, thanks for letting us know, @PrincessFluffyPants

Is it happening on multiple threads? If it crops up again and you're able to take a screenshot, that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

@JoMumsnet this one. It's caught me out again, I have scrolled to the next message and it took me straight to the Amazon site.

I am getting the same issue with this ad. Impossible to scroll past it without it taking you to Amazon.

JoMumsnet · 06/04/2026 12:02

Thanks, Mymindhasgoneblank. We're taking another look at this issue - we blocked a number of these problematic ads when they were last reported but if you can let us know which threads they're appearing on, we'll try to locate them.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 11/04/2026 06:54

Im getting this problem again with Amazon ads.

Pernicketywishes · 14/04/2026 14:58

Ugh is anyone getting the issue with Amazon adverts (when on the Mumsnet app) just being too clickable?? As in you’ve only got to breathe on one and you’re diverted to the Amazon app instantly. So annoying! I’m scrolling past and all of a sudden I get blimmin AMAZON🙄

KellyMumsnet · 15/04/2026 09:59

Morning, everyone. For anyone having similar issues with Amazon ads could you tell us which threads you're seeing them on and - if possible - post a screenshot of them? A url to the ad itself would also be useful. Thank you. Flowers

Pernicketywishes · 04/05/2026 09:10

This is happening to me on several threads. Is Mumsnet owned by Amazon??

Mymindhasgoneblank · 07/05/2026 15:10

I am getting this all the time too with various Amazon ads. This time on the AIBU thread about rearranging a meet-up with a friend who wants to bring their child. This is the url:

Hi all, we've implemented a fix to stop this from happening. Once approved, it should only open if you deliberately choose to click on it.

The fix is currently under review with Apple and we're hoping it'll be sorted very soon - thanks for bearing with us in the meantime.

JoMumsnet · 08/05/2026 11:37

Morning all,

Just letting you know that we released the new version of the iOS app this morning that fixes these ad issues, meaning they should only open if you deliberately click on them.

The app should update automatically, but if you're still experiencing problems please go to the App store and click on the Update button.

We're currently testing the new build on Android and aim to get that released as soon as possible. Thanks for bearing with us!
