Poster NewMauveGoose seems to be deliberately chucking nonsense onto multiple very old threads, presumably to mess up the board/hide newer threads, please can you kick them off? Ta!

OP posts:

Yes please as its rather annoying to open threads and seeing that their 16 years old

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 28/02/2026 22:24

interruptaron ahoy!

PrizedPickledPopcorn · 28/02/2026 22:37

I’ve just bumped a few current ones. Silver lining- it was nice seeing some of the old names!

The next time MN tweaks its technology, please could any posting of a thread more than three years old be automatically referred for moderation.

Or, much better and less effort, just close threads more than a year old. If the topic needs revisiting the OP can start a new thread and include a link to the earlier discussion.

That’s a brilliant idea.

15 years I've been suggesting this.

Good luck!

I knew I'd seen someone else suggesting it more than once. All the more reason to keep saying it.

Definitely, it's something that pre-dated even 15 years I think.

I'm wondering if they won't do it because if we linked to an old thread (especially one that wasn't ours), it would technically be a TAAT?

Hi all, and thanks for your suggestions. The recent bumping was the work of a troll - thanks to those who reported it. We’re now going through your ideas about zombie threads and will update once we’ve had a proper look. We appreciate the feedback.
