If it's not tied down these days .....

OP posts:

hidden under the three dots in the top right corner of a post.

hidden being the operative word.

I've always assumed this was a deliberate tactic by MN to actively discourage reporting of posts.

I have just turned down a coffee. Looks like I should have had one after all 😂

The three dots is a pretty standard user interface paradigm.

Well yes but the point is it didnt used to be hidden in the three dot menu. It used to be permanently visible.

A lot of posters , including OP., either thought it had been removed or, if they are newer MN users, possibly don't even realise there is a report function.

Whether the three dots are standard on other platforms or not the fact remains MN changed the very visible report function to one that is much less visible.

Hello @SerendipityJane as previous posters have said, we haven’t removed the report function and it now sits under the three-dot menu as part of a wider site update.

We absolutely want people to report rule-breaking posts as it’s a really important part of how Mumsnet works. We haven’t seen any drop in reporting volumes since the change, which suggests people are still finding and using it.

We do understand that it feels different for users who were used to seeing it more prominently, and we’ll further discuss the feedback here. Thank you.

Many thanks for that. As you know I won't be shy about coming forwards in any case 😎
