Laggy site and hot phone!

I’m still having the ongoing issue with pages randomly reloading, thus losing my place on a thread.
That’s frustrating enough, but now I’m finding the site very slow - both to load pages and to type anything. There’s a lag. And most concerning - it’s making my phone hot! I don’t have these issues on any other sites I use, only Mumsnet. I’d guess it’s either really inefficient coding and/or ads.

I do not object to ads per se. I 100% understand that they’re needed. I do object to worrying that my phone is going to cark it just by using the site. Plus it’s hell on my battery life.

Only solution I've found is switching browsers to DuckDuckGo, fixed it immediately for me.

It’s the ads.

I had the same problem and decided to either charge my phone multiple times a day or pay for premium - my phone never gets hot now, and no issues with threads loading and reloading while you’re halfway through reading them.

It's been very laggy these past few days and I've even had the black loading screen waiting for MN to catch up and load. It's ridiculous.

It seems to depend which ad is loading

There's some kind of travel ad that does it and I can't skip it. The skip button is there but it doesn't work.

well, that's what it is today. It happens a lot.

Super-slow for me, too. I don't mind ads per se, but when they deter me from using the site, MN should tone them down a bit.

Morning, everyone. We're still looking at ways to improve this but unfortunately it's not an easy fix so we don't think it will be immediate. In the meantime, if you're seeing the video player you can close that, which will help reduce the load on your phone and should improve things a bit.

Getting this also on my iphone but not on my iPad. Very frustrating as I prefer my phone.

This site is impossible to use now

Mumsnet not working on my phone at all today. Currently on my iPad. Going to give up for today. Not good when the site is unusable on some devices. I’ve cleared all my history. Closed tabs etc and nada.

Every time I post something on the mobile site the thread keeps reloading and reloading. If I try the app that fecking phone ad keeps flashing at either end of the page and I have to shut down the app because it’s unbearable. Why won’t MN sort any of this stuff out? No other website has these continuous problems.
