Seriously, there really needs to be a “hide poster” option

There are some people that you just know will say absolute nonsense and pop up on bloody everything.

Just scroll past, that is what I do. There will always be posters whose views you may not agree with. I just avoid certain topics, full stop.

Hello @PortSalutPlease we do understand why people sometimes want a hide poster function, but there are a few trade-offs with features like that around thread flow, which is why we haven’t implemented it so far. It’s not something we rule out, but it isn’t a small or simple change.

In the meantime, if someone’s posting tips into rule-breaking, please do report it so we can take a look.

It's not so much rule breaking as deliberately provocative threads.

I asked for this a few weeks ago and got told by other posters to scroll by. I would normally but the topic and threads I'm on, it is a derailing tactic. So they post every 5 posts, reply to every other post but their post content is identical. So the thread doesn't flow or progress it becomes bogged down. It is a good derailing tactic. It destroys the thread flow. @BeckyAMumsnet

That is the nature of the internet, unfortunately. Just ignore and don't engage.
