I pay for mumsnet premium but I'm seeing adverts

I was reading some threads about weight loss injections today and noticed some adverts appearing, specific ones aimed at people wanting weight loss injections. As I pay for mumsnet premium so as not to get adverts, I am not happy about this.

Hi OP

Please could you share screenshots of the adverts so that we can take a look?

Hi @LilyMumsnet

I had a look back at the thread (s) but the offending adverts have now disappeared from my screen. I'll have a look later but hopefully they have gone now!

One was a colourful picture saying information for people wanting to take Wegovy, one was somebody's journey or maintenance journey or something, I did click on that and it was an advert, but it's not coming up when I go back in the browser.

I pay for premium and still get adverts too. Fewer than I used to but it’s frustrating. TBH, it’s makes me wonder what the benefit is of paying.

These are the ones I’ve seen just in the last few minutes.

Morning, everyone. From what you're describing and the screenshots posted here (thank you for those) we think those probably are our own promotions for offers and collabs or are promoting Mumsnet's own content and aren't actually standard 'ads'.

Premium members don't see any banner ads – the image-based ads that tend to take up bandwidth and slow down page loading times. They're usually the banner across the top and a rectangle at the side of the page, or at the bottom on mobile. The text-based native ads – usually promoting offers or Mumsnet's own content – are still visible on Premium we're afraid, but they shouldn't slow anything down and you should be able to scroll past them like any other content.

Thank you for the explanation @HebeMumsnet. That does make sense, and perhaps those promotional or collaboration ads don't pop up very often for me so I was a bit worried when they suddenly started appearing on that particular thread. They did seem to be related to the subject of the thread. I spend a lot of time on the feminist and women's rights threads and so perhaps those are more difficult to insert promotions, as the subject is not necessarily relevant or easily applicable.
