Email notification link takes 2 goes to work!

I keep getting emails with vote verdict that I can reveal if I press the big purple button on the email.

When I do, it takes me to Mumsnet, but only the front page. Every single time I have to close down Mumsnet, go back to the email, click the purple reveal button again, and this time it takes me to the right place!

it always happens second time, never first. This makes it a 5 step process every time.

is it a bug or my phone?

I have the app and also noticed this on (google) search result links. I always have to click twice before landing on the actual thread. First click just opens the app on the page I was on.

Seems to be a problem with deep links in general.

Can we ask if you're using the iOS app? This might be a problem we are aware of. Basically if the app is already open on your device and you click a link from an email, it should take you to the correct thread. But if the app isn't open on your device already, it will open the app and land you on the active screen. When you then click the link a second time it will then take you to the thread. That sounds like what might be happening here?

We've been working on it and think we might have the solution but it might not be an immediate fix. We are on the case with it though.

Thank you for explaining all of that. You are absolutely right it is an iOS app but the strange thing is I never close down apps so in theory it should remember. Haven’t said that, I’ll keep an eye out - if you are on it already, I’ll hopefully see that it goes through fine each time very soon!
