Crazy advertising on MN

Is everyone else getting site ads for MyTheresa, or does mumsnet just think I'm loaded? Where have you got that idea from HQ?! At least the adverts can have no effect on me, I suppose, as there is no chance I will ever be able to afford anything I'm shown!

Just because an ad isn’t relevant to you doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be shown, just remove it as not relevant.

I’ve seen those ads and had a look, MyTheresa has some beautiful decor pieces.

I guess I'm wondering who it is relevant for. It seems an odd thing to advertise on a mainstream website - I don't know anyone who would spend £4k on a dress!

Oh I've not had that one. I get MyTheresa, Wayfair, and electric cars. Maybe my posts make me look posh and rich to the algorithm. Sadly, they have it very, very wrong 😅

It's not offensive. It's like saying don't show adverts for shein because I'm an investment banker who's a multimillionaire. Not every advert is for a product in every consumers tailor made price range or tastes?

Just use Duckduckgo as your browser for MN and you don't get the adds

At least yours are posh ads. All I get on YouTube is ads for cheap dentures. I have all my own teeth and if I didn't I would get proper dentures from my lovely dentist!

Or maybe it's an advert for an odd jobs woman? Poor girl just wants to fix up some shelves for local elderly residents, and people keep getting the wrong idea. Although she'll probably need to tie her hair back, it looks like a bit of a health and safety hazard.
