'The Other Phone Is Here' - annoying banner

I pay for Premium because I don't want the adverts.
This phone banner is still an advert, even if it's a Mumsnet product.

I don't want to see it constantly; its a distraction at the top of the screen where I would commonly find important information. As a minimum I would expect there to be a 'x' so I can close it.

Hi there @AphroditesSeashell we appreciate that as a Premium member you expect an ad-free experience. The banner you’re seeing isn’t a third-party ad - it’s a site feature highlighting Mumsnet products and updates.

We’ve designed it to be as unobtrusive as possible while still letting users know about the Other Phone. At the moment, we aren’t planning to remove it for Premium users, but we do value your feedback and will keep an eye on things.

You can call it a "site feature highlighting Mumsnet products" all you like. It's an ad. Just because it's a Mumsnet advert doesn't make it less of an advert.

You (aka Mumsnet) are trying to have your cake and eat it. You are forcing people to pay for Premium to escape your chaotic adverts and incessant popups but then surreptitiously slide your own adverts in anyway.

Unscrupulous.

I couldn’t use the site because of it moving back and forth constantly all over the page as I have a vestibular condition so I did what other users advised and downloaded a browser that blocks ads which funnily enough blocks this site feature too 👍

It’s so annoying why does it need to be moving back and forth? I’m using duck duck go now as the app is unusable. I don’t pay for premium but all the ads are blocked.

It’s all about the money money money! Sad really.
