Posts with links cause 'unexpected error'

Lougle · 07/11/2025 08:51

When posts include a link, pressing the post button results in an 'unexpected error, please refresh the page' banner. This happens 2-4 times before the post then processes.

MN seems to be having real issues lately.

Thanks for flagging this, @Lougle - it sounds frustrating and we're taking a look now.

How long has this been happening?

Lougle · 07/11/2025 12:30

Hi Jo, about a week, I think. I'm on Chrome and it's happening on both the app on my mobile phone (Samsung S22 Ultra) and on the Chrome desktop app on my laptop.

Hi again @Lougle - we've made some changes and hopefully this issue is fixed now. Can you let us know how it goes next time you post a link?

Lougle · 07/11/2025 13:20

I've just posted a link and it was fine @JoMumsnet , thank you. I'll let you know if that changes.

While I'm here, MN often seems to be struggling with quoting PP, also. It will go through eventually, but regularly says it can't use the quote.

Thanks for letting us know about the quote feature @Lougle . Next time you see this could you screengrab the message for us so we can see exactly what it says? Many thanks! Flowers
