Weight Loss Promo Codes topic removed?

Has the weight loss promo codes section been deliberately removed? The link is broken and it doesn't appear in the list of topics anywhere. It's still being linked to from the Promo Codes section under Money, but the link is broken.

Probably because they've partnered with a few different weight loss companies and only want people to use their discount codes

AphroditesSeashell · 29/10/2025 14:57

The weight loss companies put regulations in place to prevent people using sites like this to share their codes. My thinking is that MN is just trying to keep people right and prevent anyone having their WL accounts cancelled due to incorrectly procured codes being shared. It was much discussed on here at the time, that people shouldn't be doing it anymore.

SilenceInside · 29/10/2025 15:01

Yes, I know about the previous discussions about code sharing. But, the board was still there very recently, and is still linked by MN on the Promo Codes section, so it's a bit odd that it's just been pulled without them also removing their own links to it. And I'd ideally like MN to comment on why, if it's been deliberately removed.

@AphroditesSeashell was not just one company that pulled the plug on public sharing?

I don't care really as I don't use referrals, just don't want to see them in the WLI support board again and I'm sure the promos board doesn't want to see them either!

Would be good to know where to direct posters who do share them on the support board - before reporting them 😈

It would be great to get an answer to this, or some kind of response..... This is a screenshot of the Promo Codes talk section from just now (when the image appears). You can see the Info comment at the top that says that weight loss promo codes are not allowed here, and to post on the Weight Loss Promo Codes board which is then linked. But that link is broken, the board no longer exists.

You can also see that 5 out of the top 9 threads are about weight loss promo codes! And, the amount of people posting promo codes all over the Weight Loss Injections/Treatments section is increasing again. Even on the long running support threads which is super annoying. As well as repeatedly on this thread!

Hi there @SilenceInside and others,

We closed the Weight loss promo codes board to new posts, following updated guidance from the Advertising Standards Authority. The ASA’s advice makes it clear that it’s against regulations to share affiliate or discount codes online alongside pricing information and medication names.

Because of this, we’re no longer able to allow these codes to be shared on Mumsnet. We know this will be disappointing for some, but we do have to stay within guidelines.

Yes indeed. Can’t have the multi billion pound profits of these drug companies getting dented by discount codes. Haha
