If you don't like a thread scroll past

ReignOfError · 22/10/2025 10:34

Click on the 3 dots at the top right of the relevant post. Report is the final option in the list that appears.

Thanks @ReignOfError.

Hope you've found it ok @echt. Just drop us a line again here if any further problems with reporting. We'll look out for your message.

Take your own advice.

If everybody did that I can't even begin to imagine the offensive and inappropriate stuff that would be posted on the site.
The report facility is vital .

I don't think anyone is reporting threads just because they "don't like them".

Do you understand what the report function is for?

If you see something that is blatantly untrue, spam or hate speech (other reportable posts are available), do you just "scroll past"?

I bet they are.

I bet they are.

I take it you have never reported anything yourself.

If you had you would know that if you reported a thread because you just "didn't like it" the moderators at MN would take no action unless they deemed the sites guidelines had been flouted.

So you would be wasting your own time for reporting something on the grounds of "not liking it".

I'm struggling to see why you have such an issue with users doing their bit to keep the site safe.

SmallPotatoAdventCalendar · 22/10/2025 16:39

@youalright

...and what do you think happens if somebody reports a thread just because they don't like it?

Nothing happens I'm fully aware but im sure mumsnet have better things to do then deal with people who like to be offended by every little thing when they can just scroll by

youalright · 22/10/2025 18:20

Why don't you ask op what thread it actually is thats actually offended her rather then assuming its this awful thing that needs reporting.

SmallPotatoAdventCalendar · 22/10/2025 19:56

It doesn't matter what the actual thread is. OP wants to report something, and has asked how to do this. Perfectly reasonable question (that's what site stuff is for), and if it needs removing then MN will do that. Reporting is anonymous, we don't need to know what OP wants to report. Why are you so invested in what OP wants to report? It's none of your business.

echt · 22/10/2025 21:57

I didn't want to report anything, not that that is anyone's business, just how to do it. The format of MN has changed. It is more oblique.

Thanks, @ReignOfError
