Using the app

For some reason, when I try to access MN through google, it automatically opens the app.
I don’t like using the app because of the lay out but seems I have no choice.
Where can I see if I’ve been quoted or had a ‘like’? In notifications on the app it just shows me the topics I’m on/watching.

I like to see who has quoted me so I can reply to them, but I can’t work out where I can see this.

Hi @Pricelessadvice this happens on iPhones when Chrome automatically opens Mumsnet links in the app. If you’d rather stay on the website version, you can try this:

In Chrome, tap the AA icon (or the share icon) in the address bar when a Mumsnet link opens, then choose “Open in Chrome” or “Open in Safari” instead of the app.

Or go to your iPhone Settings > Mumsnet, and turn off “Open supported links” - that stops iOS from sending you straight to the app. At the moment, the app only shows threads you’re on or watching, not for when you’ve been quoted or liked.

Alternatively, you can remove the app - then links will not default to it - but if you'd prefer to keep your options open, then please try the above.
