Shein advert opening when I’m scrolling

Why do some ads seem to open while Im scrolling and others dont? It’s really annoying as I never click on ads or open things I don’t know what they are.

I don’t want to open a Shein advert as I don’t shop there.

If I want to shop there I would type the name in and find their web page.

Yet this ad seems more prone to opening than other ads, none of which have recently accidentally opened on me, although I’ve had it in the past with another ad.

Why does this happen? It can be just me or others would open too.

Can it be fixed please as it’s putting me and probably others off, @mnhq

Hi there @TalulahJP. Could you tell us where you were on the site when you saw the ad? And also what you were doing when it popped up? (eg scrolling, trying to post etc). And is it a video that starts playing or just an ad that 'pops up' somewhere. Any of that info might help us track it down and check what's happening.

Better still, if you can click on it next time you see it and then copy and paste the url for the ad in this thread, that would be great.

thanks for looking Into this. I was scrolling and suddenly I was taken to a website.

I see various ads in between the posts. It must have been one of them that I was scrolling past and it just opened by itself.

I don’t honestly know as I wasn’t looking at the ad at all, but it happened multiple times that day and hasn’t since tbh! I thought you’d fixed it!

will keep you posted if it happens again. Perhaps anyone else experiencing this could do so too.
