Having to click twice from emails on phone

I regularly get emails from Mumsnet, and often there's a link to a forum post I want to follow.

When I do this, my phone switches from my mail app to the Mumsnet app (expected), but it just takes me to the main Active threads on Mumsnet. I go back to my email, click through a second time, and it opens the thread. But clearly some sort of bug as it doesn't open the thread the first time - just takes me to the forum homepage. I assume this is a known issue as it's been going on for weeks, but nothing seems to have been done about it.

(iPhone running latest versions etc.)

Hi - it's an iphone 13 mini, and yes, all in the app. So the process flow is:

1. Receive Mumsnet email in my Mail app.
2. Click to follow link on (e.g.) AIBU for dressing as a sheep to a funeral?
3. Link opens up the Mumsnet app (good!)
4. But Mumsnet app opens on Active Threads, not the specific link I've clicked
5. I go back to my Mail app and click on the AIBU sheep thread link again in the Mumsnet email
6. This time, the right thread opens, and I wade in with my vital opinion on dressing as livestock at a funeral.
