Website completely unusable again

Just why?! Screenshot attached. I’ve blocked the pop ups. It doesn’t stop the constant videos playing. All I can see are the ads numerous times when trying to read a thread. The page freezes on the ads. Then there is a pause and it tries to catch up and crashes.

I reluctantly downloaded the app but I don’t like the format. I just want to use this site online.

Hello @ThrivingIn2025ing we're sorry your device is crashing. Can we please check if you can click the X on the video ads and what happens when you do? Always press 'X' rather than 'skip' if there is an option. That should help prevent the ad popping up again.

For the new 'pop-up' video ads: Each one should include an ‘X’ button. If you click the ‘X’, you should not see that type of ad again during your session. (If you do please let us know with a screenshot if possible).

For all other ads (ie not the pop-up video style), please send screenshots if you can, which will help us troubleshoot.

A few other things you could try is make sure your browser is up to date and clear your cache and cookies, which can sometimes help. Let us know if no joy with these options and we'll take a further look at what's going on here.

I’m having a similar issue. I also use my device to listen to my radio app in the background, and when i open a new MN tab it often cuts off the radio (even if no sound playing on the ad, it just recognises the video). Very annoying.

I have no X to click either. This has been mentioned before by many users. It’s unhelpful to keep mentioning this asa solution

Yes same - the solutions you keep mentioning aren’t available (x) / don’t work (cache) @BeckyAMumsnet

@BeckyAMumsnet and it does this all the time. A big refresh and then tries to load. It’s really annoying

Any update @BeckyAMumsnet or any suggestions I can implement that I haven’t already tried to get the website working?
