How do I get rid of the My Posts box

I know it's mine. I wrote it and it's got a pink background.

Absolutely ridiculous isn't it?
I'm getting the feeling MN have really dumbed down the site with these changes.
They must think we are all stupid.

NormaSnickers · 18/09/2025 21:20

I’ve no idea who thought that was a good idea! The whole update seems completely pointless to me, and certainly hasn’t enhanced my MN experience.

TheReformedSlob · 18/09/2025 21:27

They must have some real thickos on their improve-the-MN-experience panel.

I love this feature. I have been hoping it would get added. Why? Because sometimes you don’t remember if you posted on a thread or need to weed through to find exactly what you already said. If you are on your phone and the thread is very long, it can be a real pain to find your post.

ProfoundlyPeculiarAndWeird · 18/09/2025 21:30

I've assumed that clicking on this button will give you all of the posts that you have made on the thread, but that it hasn't gone live yet.

Seems potentially useful.

So how will it work? On a big long thread which you’ve come back to, how would you find your post just because a “my posts” sticker was added to what you wrote three pages earlier? You’d still have to scroll back until you found it. Confused

SummerFrog25 · 18/09/2025 21:43

@Ponderingwindow not sure if that's going to happen. Besides, they just needed to add the coding like the old coding fir the OP, not there new stupid 'original poster' 'my post' colour clashing stickers.

How it any more useful than looking for your posts by their colour?

Don't you have different colours set in your talk settings? That does exactly the same job in a far less jarring fashion.

yonem · 18/09/2025 21:50

I do find this a bit garish but it does seem to solve the problem that the post colours don’t display on my phone when it’s in dark mode (these boxes do)

Ponderingwindow · 18/09/2025 22:01

Haven’t poked around in settings in ages, so I didn’t realize that was available.

I happily bow out of this discussion. I don’t particularly care how my posts are flagged as long as they are easier to see.

I could find my posts perfectly well by the fact they were purple. I did not need a whacking great "my posts" in them

Edited

It's been available for years, maybe as long as a decade.
