Annoying advert

I'm fed up of seeing the advert for Fisher Price toddler chair. It pops us every time I open a thread and stays there replaying over and over again.
It looks uncomfortable and is a very unappealing design.
Just another bit of expensive plastic tat that will end up in landfill.

Use an ad blocker.

Hi there @BetteDavisChin ,

Can we check, are you able to close the ad using the 'x' button at the top right of it or is the issue that you're doing it and it's then reopening and replaying? Can we also ask how many times that's happening if that's the case?

Same here you can’t close it as the “X” symbol isn’t visible also happening on any other advert that is displayed in the right hand corner of the page it’s draining my battery at an alarming rate.

All of these small pop up ads constantly come back within 30 seconds of clicking on the X. The X is also really tiny so if you miss it opens up a full ad. You get the same ad over and over and over again - for hours.
I hate these moving/film ads as they burn through battery power so bloody quickly. It appears in the right hand bottom corner, film starts, I click on the X, it slides off screen and then the exact same ad reappears 30 seconds later and rinse + repeat & so on. It's ridiculous. I'm on Chrome desktop. It's worse on my 10" tablet (on Chrome) as the ad covers half of whatever I'm reading.

While we're at it could you get rid of the huge side banner ads that some times also have moving film.
I don't mind ads and accept them as an annoying part of MN as long as they are just still pictures and text but I'm disabled with a worsening eye condition and moving ads give me head aches. I click to close and another moving/film ad starts. If I report an ad as inappropriate for me then I still get the ads until I've reported it many times and they stop. The next day it ignores my previous days requests and I have to go through it all again - day after day.
I spend more time clicking ads 'off' that I do reading content. Yes, I could pay not to have ads (that I never read/are irrelevant) but I'm disabled and on a limited income. Can some common sense and proper oversight be applied to ads - please?

My phone (iPhone) runs very hot and the battery drains super fast whenever I use MN now because of these video adverts. Are they trying to keep us off here or something 😂
