Constantly being sent back to the beginning of the active list

saraclara · 14/09/2025 07:40

Normally, when I click on a thread on the active list, I can read it dvd then use the back button to take me to where it was on the active list so I can continue working my way down.

But now when I click back, I'm taken right to the top of the list and have to scroll all the way down to find where I last left it.
It might seem trivial, but it's very annoying.

It sounds as though it should be an easy fix?

Me too! It's been happening for a few days and is really annoying!

TheMerryWidow1 · 14/09/2025 07:50

Me too x for several days x driving me mad x

neverstopthelaundry · 14/09/2025 07:53

Me too. I have started opening the link in a new tab as I am on a laptop. That back button and going back to where you originally were in the active conversations list was brilliant.

MN can you fix that?

Funderthighs · 14/09/2025 07:58

It’s been like this for ages for me too. It’s rather annoying.

springissprung2025 · 14/09/2025 08:01

Mine is fine on my iPhone but does the same on my laptop in pat few days. It’s so annoying

squashyhat · 14/09/2025 08:06

This has already been raised with MNHQ but no resolution so far

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/09/2025 08:12

Same. Very annoying. Mine’s been doing it for weeks.

ShakespearesSisters · 14/09/2025 08:13

And me. Glad I saw this i was thinking of posting. It's putting me off bothering at times. And the bookmarks don't seem to work.
I use it on my phone mainly so sometimes leave the thread open on a tab and then have to turn off my phone. When I go back to it now it tends to default to the top of the thread or just at a random spot rather than where I left it, which it always used to do. I never needed to bother with bookmarks as it was always in the right place. Even when I had 20 different threads on individual tabs open.

GandTtwice · 14/09/2025 08:33

There's another thread about this that @MNHQ commented on a few days ago to say they are looking in to it. Sadly no updates from them yet.
It's annoying and frustrating

KingscoteStaff · 14/09/2025 08:47

Please fix this, it’s very annoying!

Ddakji · 14/09/2025 08:48

Me too, for the past couple of days.

JackieQueen · 14/09/2025 08:51

I've got this too, and when you hide threads they just come straight back

Optimist1 · 14/09/2025 09:02

Thanks, @saraclara for raising this - I've been suffering for several days and haven't got round to complaining for myself.

ComeTheMoment · 14/09/2025 09:03

Me too. V v tedious. Come on Mumsnet! Sort it out!

Tunacheesequesadilla · 14/09/2025 09:04

Yes, I hate this. It's so annoying.

EveryKneeShallBow · 14/09/2025 09:08

Yes, me too. For such a (seemingly) small thing it’s intensely irritating.

DeanStockwelll · 14/09/2025 09:20

Its annoying isn't it, it's even more annoying when you get to the bottom of the active list and click 'load more' then click the back button.
It takes you right back to the top of the original list and you have to scroll to the bottom and 'load more' again . It feels like it takes ages .

I am on Samsung android using chrome.
Is it any different for those on the app or premium?

laughingnow · 14/09/2025 09:24

Me too

saraclara · 14/09/2025 09:24

squashyhat · 14/09/2025 08:06

This has already been raised with MNHQ but no resolution so far

Have I missed it? I couldn't see it anywhere. Or are you thinking of the OP, about a slightly different problem?

ETA sorry, just found the thread that you're talking about. If missed it.

I thought it was just me! Agree that it is very annoying.

CherryogDog · 14/09/2025 09:30

Same for me. Samsung phone, using chrome. Not on the app.

JiminyBillyBobByng · 14/09/2025 09:32

Yes, and it's really annoying. Wonder what caused the change?

ponygirlcurtis · 14/09/2025 10:21

Me too,on both my phone (Samsung, Chrome rather than app) and Chromebook, although both on Android/Chrome I guess.

Catpiece · 14/09/2025 10:24

And me. So minor but so intensely irritating
