Why do I keep getting notifications to tell me how many posts there's been on a certain thread?

I know when you're watching a thread you get notified when it's updated but I'm not watching this thread, I just posted on it a few times.

And now, I keep getting notifications to say there's been other posts on it. I've even deleted it from my 'Threads I'm on' list but still the notifications continue.

Why is it happening and why just on this one particular thread and (thankfully) not all the others I've posted on?

I'm using Chrome/desktop btw.

I'm including a screenshot but I expect it'll take a while to show.

Hi there @PennySweeet.

Thanks for letting us know. Could you posttibly share a link to the thread in question that you're being notified about? Looking at the screenshot, we think it's this thread: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/5401712-since-when, but we'd just like to be sure.

If you voted on the thread and have the following setting toggled to 'yes' in your web notifications, you will be notified when others post on the thread. If you change it to 'no', they should top receiving notifications: https://www.mumsnet.com/settings/notifications?view=web. So that would be worth trying, too.

Hi @HebeMumsnet, thank for your reply.

Yes that's the thread in question but I already have it toggled to 'no'.

Plus it's the only thread I'm being notified about?

I'll attach a screenshot to this.

I've had the same problem & have now changed to 'No', but I'm left with tons of notifications like this. There appears to be no way to get rid of them except to go to each thread individually, which I hope means it will be - stay - erased from my list.

What are the red dots next to notifications for? If you could press the dot & delete/turn off that notfication, that would be great. But they appear to do nothing.
