Swiping to other threads - make it stop!

We've had a discussion on here before about this, and how annoying it is, but I can't find it now.

This is a seriously irritating feature which appears to be more and more sensitive as time goes on.

I don't want to swipe to another thread, especially when I'm just trying to scroll down on the thread I'm reading. If this is some kind of test group I'm in, I'd like to be removed.

I want to choose the threads I read, not have them forced on me by this super-sensitive feature which doesn't even give any warning, just transports you to another thread!

Can this feature please be removed / made less sensitive / be made an option you can opt out of? It's godawful.

OMG yes 100% agree! This is the most annoying feature in the world! The Daily Mail does it as well. I want to go back to active to pick my next thread, not have it decided for me by some faceless algorithm that has no idea what I want to read.

Seconded. So often I go to select text in a reply and end up on another thread and then the response I was typing gets wiped. It’s utterly maddening.

UnalliterativeGeorge · 30/08/2025 09:20

Thirded. It stopped doing it so often for a bit but it's happened three times this morning already and it just makes me give up trying to read anything as it's beyond irritating

Same! I hate it.

I have sight issues and like to zoom in to increase the word size, but zooming in ALWAYS forces me onto another thread. I often abandon mn because of it.

Or yesterday it kept doing it whenever I tried to add a post to a thread. Again, I just gave in and closed mn.

Yes. I thought it improved for a bit. It's way way worse now. So sensitive!

I can't copy and paste text to do a bolded quote (when I don't want to quote the whole post), as the act of trying to copy the text sends me to another thread. 😩

Evening, everyone. Could anyone experiencing this problem let us know what device and browser they're using please, and we'll take a look.

NoWordForFluffy · 01/09/2025 21:46

iPhone 13 and Opera.

I have this and it's so unbelievably irritating. Several times I've written a long reply, accidentally swiped when writing and then I've lost it all. Then I can't be bothered to do it again.
I'm using my Android Google Pixel 6a phone and Chrome browser.

Literally just happened as I was writing that message. Unreal, is the universe playing a joke.
