How hard would it be...

...to have the OP's posts and "my" (i.e., the user reading the thread) posts appear in different colours?

Currently they both appear on a background with exactly the same shade of green. Since the point of using a coloured background is presumably to make these posts stand out, could it be arranged that they stand out from each other?

This principle is already in place with MNHQ posts, which are blue. So why not make a user's own posts appear with, say, a pale yellow or pink background? To answer my own question from the thread title, it feels like it ought to take about 5 minutes tops to code this.

On my phone the OP post is green, mnhq are blue and mine are purple.

TooOldTo · 23/08/2025 23:56

You can already do this. It’s under talk settings (at least it is on the website)

RedNine · 23/08/2025 23:57

yes, already a thing on the website. OP are you using the app?

AintNoPunshineWhenShesGone · 23/08/2025 23:59

I have the OP's posts set to green and mine to pink.

I use the website though.

ExperiencedTeacher · 23/08/2025 23:59

Im on the app on iPhone. OP posts are blue, everyone else’s posts are purple, my posts are green!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 24/08/2025 00:00

You can set all these things yourself @samarrange

DramaAlpaca · 24/08/2025 00:01

This has been possible for years.

samarrange · 24/08/2025 00:14

Doh! I didn't even think to imagine it might be possible... facepalm

But then, just before I slide out feeling embarrassed... why is the default the same for both? Presumably nobody ever chooses the same for both.
