Ad blocker disabled when ads allowed

I have opted into the ads ( some of which are bizarrely irrelevant, but who cares). I regularly get requests to disable my ad blocker, but….I don’t have one, as witness the fact that this message will sometimes be superimposed on an advertisement.

if I follow the link it seems to want to give access into my Main Settings for my entire device, well, no way.

Is this legitimate, or is it some sort of malpractice ?

The last two days I am continuously getting this message.

I get it when I first log in, so i accept the "read for free with ads and cookies" , yet every action i take after that, it continuously pops up, when I open a thread, it pops up, I accept again, I go to the last page of the thread, I go to post or edit a post and it pops up again.

Morning, @Allthegoodnamesarechosen,

Thanks for getting in touch. A few people have been having this problem over the last month or so. Could we ask which browser you are using and also whether you are using any of the following extensions and tools, as we think some of these may be triggering the ad blocker messages.

Ad Blockers

  • Adblock
  • Adblock Plus
  • uBlock Origin
  • uBlock Origin Lite
  • Adguard Extension
  • Adremover
  • Ultrablock
  • Malwarebytes Browser Guard
Privacy/Tracking Protection Extensions
  • Ghostery
  • Privacy Badger
  • Disconnect
  • Firefox Tracking Protection
Other Privacy Tools / Services
  • Adguard
  • DuckDuckGo
  • VeePN
