Mumsnet advertising scam company

I have to wonder why mumsnet is allowing adverts for a company called Nancy London. They have a 1 star rating on Trustpilot, with the consensus being this is a scam company, where the goods are very poor quality, shipped directly from China and are nothing like the photos.
People also complain about returns being impossible. Some reviews are very recent and 98% of reviews give 1 star. Stop showing this ad mumsnet!

I like this paragraph from their website:
Clearly not dodgy, as you are supporting hard working Englands.

We have an office in London, where our stylists, leading website developers and marketing team work. We also offer a digital "work from home" and, in these times of economic crisis, we employ hundreds of Englands who help us in areas such as customer service, subscription cancellations, social media enquiries, publishing, production of content, modeling and much more. Please know that your purchase matters and that you are supporting hard working Englands ❤️.

It'll be a Google ad, I should think. Now you have flagged it up, Mumsnet can add it to their block list on their Google Ad account.

Hi @Stichintime

Thanks for flagging this. Firstly, can you let us know if this is an AdChoices ad? You'll see a blue triangle and cross in the corner if so.

If you can also let us know which device, browser and version of the site you're using, and where you're seeing the ad (the title or URL of the thread) we'll take a closer look. Thank you.

Hi Jo, yes its an AdChoices ad. Im on Android. The ad is showing on active threads, about 6 posts down. It's also showing as a banner across the top of the page.

If you let Chloe know where the actual link goes, ie their website, she can block it. You just add it to a list.

Thanks for the extra details, @Stichintime - we've blocked these ads now but do let us know if any others pop up.

Stichintime · 05/08/2025 14:51

Just seen it again.

Just seen it again.

I'm really puzzled as to why this is still happening. And why @JoMumsnet asked about your device, browsers, site versions.

When a website has an Adchoices account, ie Google Ads, it gives you the option to add sites to a blocked list. Devices, browsers, site versions, don't come into it.

Thankyou so much Charabanc, have now hopefully blocked, and realised how limited my tech knowledge is!

Hopefully @JoMumsnet (or whoever) is listening and learning too! 😆
