Can we have an optional laugh?

Hi! Can we have a laugh reaction where we can turn off notifications for it? You don’t get ‘thanks’ reaction notifications on the app. Can we not have that for a laugh reaction? Or a button where people can turn the ability to be given laugh reactions on or off?

It was turned off because people were bullying others with it.

Some of us do want the laugh react back.It's ridiculous a vocal minority got it banned.

agree an "opt out of" function could work.

But that means you have to add a post, with a quote and an emoji. Which takes time and spams the thread.

Customising reactions or turning off reactions sounds appealing in theory, but it doesn’t solve the core problem, we don't think. The laugh emoji was removed after we saw it increasingly used to mock posters, which was especially awful on sensitive threads. While most used it in good faith, enough didn’t and the impact on vulnerable users was real. Letting people opt out wouldn’t stop misuse, and it risks creating a fragmented experience. So while we know some miss it, we’ve no plans to bring it back at the moment, we're afraid.
