Thread notification leading me to old posts within the thread

This is so annoying!

Im following a thread, for example "And Just like that S3 con't (and hopefully S4) the one where we hope Carrie finally bins Aidan"

We post on this weekly. So today, I received a notification to say the OP has updated the post, great, I read it, watch the programme.
I then receive another notification to stating the OP has made a post an hour ago today but the link takes me to a post dated 17th july. I then have to scroll all the way down "to load newer posts" continuously to get to the most recent posts.

is the site meant to be this difficult to navigate? Surely, it should go to the most recent post? And i miss the pages as 1 click would take me to the last page rather than relentlessly scrolling and loading newer posts.

Does anyone else have this too?
Can I change settings or something?
