I have posted on the AIBU thread “To think women taking their husband’s name doesn’t have to be sexist”, but I can’t get onto the thread any more - as stated in the title, I just get the ‘Bad Gateway’ page.

All the other threads I want to read and post on are opening with no problems, and other people are posting on the thread I’m having problems with, so it would seem to be only me who is having issues.

@MNHQ - can you help, please?

Hi @SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius

We've tried opening the thread on the desktop site, mobile site and the iOS app and it's working okay for us. Please can you let us know which device, browser and version of the site you're using so we can look into this for you?

Thanks in advance.

I’m using an iPad with Safari as my browser, @JoMumsnet. I’m not sure which version of the site I’m using, but I don’t think it’s changed in a while, if that helps.

Hi @SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius thanks for sharing the extra info. Please can you try changing your Talk settings from 'All' to '100' per page and see if you can then access the thread?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 10/07/2025 10:42

That did the trick - thanks, @BellaMumsnet.

This is now happening on many threads once they pass a certain size.

the message is from nginx so probably something adjustable. A max file size for example.

I did wonder if that was the case - thank you, @LastTrainsEast.

I agree - these errors are increasing and mostly I get the classic 502 Bad Gateway errors. I would be hunting through the nginx logs.
