App makes me phone SO hot

No other apps do this.
I think it’s the endless ads.
It’s easy enough to resolve (just close MN app each time).

Omg I only just said this to me DD who scoffs at MN on the best of days! Now she’s really going to town!

We're currently investigating this but if you (and anyone else experiencing this issue) could also please tell us the device - e.g. iPhone 12, iPad 7th generation etc and the iOS version you are using. You can find the iOS version by going into settings on your device, selecting 'General' and then 'About'. You should then see the iOS version number. Thank you.

iPhone 11, 18.5. Draining the battery and the phone feels like it’s going to burst into flames

Chrome for MN and Safari for everything else helps very slightly but it still makes everything very slow to load, drains the battery and means my iPad gets very hot quickly.

edit to add IPad 9th generation.

I thought it was because I was on a winning Candy Crush streak so I was relieved that it was 'just' MN. I can access MN on the desktop, but Candy Crush is only on my phone.

Same problem. Iphone 14. Ios 18.5. To many ads my phone doesnt like it. Can only use the app for ten minutes before my phone is red hot. Also drains my battery.
its putting me using off mumsnet.

iPhone 14 and latest updates installed. I don’t use the app. Browser is Edge or Safari (I use both), makes no difference to the overheating issue.

Thank God it’s not just me

The ads also interrupt whatever else I might be listening to while scrolling MN.
They're very intrusive and I have to do my best not to accidentally click on one (the x is impossibly tiny on a phone).

Morning, everyone. We've made a change that we think should resolve this issue now. You'll need to open the app and quit it again fully (you might need to do this twice in order for the update to come through on your device). That should hopefully solve it but if anyone is still having overheating issues after that please do let us know.
