Pagination has disappeared

I realise that there are some other posts about this but they seem to be from a while ago.

Everything was normal for me this morning and I had threads split up into pages.

This evening there are no page breaks even though I have 25 posts per page in my settings. It really is unusable when you have an apparently infinite, constantly scrolling thread and it puts me off trying to read the longer threads.

What has changed? Is it going to be fixed?

agree it’s awful. I see it on some threads and it makes me not want to return to them!

We're trying out something new at the moment with some users seeing threads in 'infinite scroll', meaning there are no pages. It might be that you're one of the users in that group. We are aware that quite a few people aren't keen so we're taking people out of it if they wish. If you'd like us to do that for you too just let us know here and we can remove you.

MNHQ, is there any way of removing infinite scroll of you’re not logged in to MN? In the interests of privacy/security (I have posted about sensitive personal stuff under various usernames), I don’t log in to MN unless I’m actually writing a post. When not logged in, infinite scroll appears randomly on different boards, and makes it really difficult to read longer threads.

I get that you want people to log in, but the infinite scroll is so off-putting that it doesn’t encourage me to log in - it has the opposite effect and just makes me give up reading MN!

Could you please remove this feature for me. My dexterity isn't great and the scrolling makes things even more difficult. I now only read short threads because of this.

Hi there @Mespil . It sounds like that might be some kind of glitch, which we'll look into. Infinite scroll should show up across all threads, not just some.

Would you like us to look into whether you're in that test group or not though (and remove you if you are for when you're logged in)? We'll need you to be logged in to remove you, though. Just give us a shout if you want to log in while we do that.
