Infinite scroll fail

Hate infinite scroll. Hate it. Please don't bring this in.

However, if you do, please at least fix the following problem.

There no 'jump to end'. If I go to the top I can load older posts (page by page, which is a pain on a long thread - a jump button would be handy there too), but if I want to go to the bottom I just have to scroll scroll scroll all the way down.

And when I get there it isn't actually the bottom, but there's no way to load the rest of the posts.

For example I just had a notification that there was reaction to one of my posts, and also 3 new posts in the same thread. Clicked to see the reaction and it was on a post from a couple of weeks ago. Then tried to see the new posts and I can't. Can't get past 21 May.

NormallybId just click on the last page, but theres nonoption for that so I scrolled scrolled scrolled down from my first click. It stopped at 22 May. Went back to notifications and tried 'new posts' (which of couse was now an old notification so had re-set to 155 new posts) and tried to scroll down from there. Same. Refreshed the page. No use.

Can't get to the end. I know there were posts yesterday, as well as the 3 new ones today. Can't reach them.

And you can't see from within the thread how full it is. You have to go back to the folder to see the post count.

And if you're reading a long thread and want to comment and then hop back to where you were, there no way to jump to the page number.

Hate it.

Update, I see from other threads that some have a load newer posts button, so it's an intermittent glitch rather than a design problem. But still no jump to end.

And scrolling up and down is really glitchy. On threads where I can get to the end I keep trying to scroll down just a few posts and being whooshed all the way to the end - then have to find my way back to the right place.

Bit more testing. The vanishing end (and no 'next posts' button) seems to happen when I scroll down fast.

Exactly as you do if you want to get to the end.

So to go further down a thread I have to scroll reeeaallly slowly.

Sorry to hear that you're not a fan @NoBinturongsHereMate - we appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Did you want to be taken off the infinite scroll tester group?

I posted on the 'please remove me' thread and it seems to have neen done impressively fast, thank you. Very happy to have pages back.
