Dates in search function, and emails not linking to the thread it’s telling you about

Some petty annoyances that are driving my hormone addled brain mad:

I get the email with the trending threads. But if I click on one, it just takes me to the “active” page with all the threads. And of course I can’t find the one I want in the “trending” section. So I’m struggling to see the point of the email?

Next Irritation: when doing an advanced search, I can’t use today’s date. The latest I can specify it to is the day before. Am I missing something?!
