Tabs problem on laptop

I access MN on my laptop. I use Firefodx and open tabs for threads I'm following.

In the last week or so two very unhelpful things have started happening:

A tab for a thread I've been on suddenly vanishes and surfaces at the extreme right of the tabs bar, way beyond non MN stuff - the weather forecast, news, twitter stuff. Maddening, and half the time leaves me re-opening the same thread.

And (particularly if I'm moving tabs) I keep getting offered some blue box thing that I don't want.

I've been blaming Firefox - now I'm wondering is it Mumsnet's fault? If so, please stop it, it's extremely un-(this)-user friendly.

Oh, and specifically, I read from left to right, and sort my tabs by most frequently accessed to the left, least frequently accessed to the right. What is happening is counterintuitive if it is intended to help me access my MN tabs, rather than to hinder that.
