Reporting spam/advertising.

Is there any way we could have the report button at the top of a thread/post as well as, or instead of the bottom?

Some of the spam/advertising posts lately have been sooo long, you have to scroll for ages to get to the bottom and click report.

Then when you do, you have to scroll the whole thing again to get to the bit where you choose your reason for reporting.

Not so bad on a laptop but puts me off reporting when I have to scroll it all on my phone.

We’ve been thinking about a small change that might help: moving the “Report” option into the meatball menu - that’s the little three-dot icon in the corner of posts. It would help keep posts looking cleaner and less cluttered, while still giving quick access to report.

We did consider moving it to the top of posts, but that’s a bit trickier - sometimes usernames are really long, and space gets tight up there.

It sounds like this could also solve the issue you mentioned. What do you think - would that work for you?

That sounds like a plan, as long as we don't have to keep scrolling through to the end of the post to select the reason for reporting once we've selected 'report'?

I agree with this proposal! I'm generally scrolling on a laptop and having to scroll (with my slightly sticky touchpad) up and down the page continually to report makes me utterly fed up. Having 'Report' at the top would at least eliminate a proportion of my annoyance at these dreadful things.
