Deleted threads can't be removed

Why is it that when a thread is deleted it remains on my Watch list? I go into it, read the deletion message from MNHQ, press 'unwatch this thread' but any time I go back to my watch list of threads, it is still there, taking up space.

Not for me. I use both an apple cell and standard desktop.

SilverTapz · 11/05/2025 16:55

This happens to me too. Android phone. Very annoying.

Pemba · 11/05/2025 17:42

Yes I am on an Android phone too

Morning, everyone. We'll take a look at this. First though, could we ask if those having this issue are using the app or the main site? And if you're on the app could you check that you are using the most up to date version?

If you're on the main site could you tell us what device and browser you are using?

Thanks!

Pemba · 12/05/2025 22:21

I use the main site, not the app on my phone (the app presents everything in a different way which I can't get used to). I am using android and Google Chrome on a Motorola Moto G54 phone. But the same thing used to happen when I had a Samsung Galaxy A40.

Same thing on my Lenovo laptop, deleted threads won't disappear from the Watchlist.

I’m on iPhone and I can’t delete removed threads either.

CourtenayDevon · 13/05/2025 07:44

@TheFormidableMrsC I’m on iphone (xr) .
Rather than sliding from the dots on the right, If you press and hold your finger on the deleted post, do you get a ‘pop up’ with options? I can do this on mine and one of the options is ‘unwatch’.
(Attached screenshot but might take a mo to upload. )

I assume nothing can be done about it then? Seems a shame, but oh well.

It's weird because if you just choose to unwatch a thread that has not been deleted there's no problem, it disappears from your list.

Hi OP

We're still looking into this one, and will be back when we have an update.
Thanks so much for the extra information.

Pemba · 16/05/2025 16:02

No worries, also I forgot to say that I'm also using Chrome as the browser on my Lenovo laptop.
