Why in the app do new paragraphs not auto capitalise?

It used to.
but if I press return like this
it’s no longer capitals.
frustrating!

Oh my goodness yes! It’s very frustrating!
I thought it was only me it annoyed!

Not sure if it’s just the app or is the same on the website?

MNHQ have been made aware of this basic function for months and done nothing about it. Along with font size etc etc.

Hello @NCTDN thanks for posting - and we appreciate this is annoying. We'd love it to be a quick change but it's a surprisingly fiddly thing to get working properly across all the different devices people use. We're not ignoring it, we promise, and are still looking into ways to make it work.

Have you got anywhere with this Becky ? Why is it so tricky for MN when every other forum in the world seems to manage it just fine?

It used to work on the “old” site, but stopped working whenever the big overhaul happened - four or so years ago, can’t remember now. It was flagged at the time as being an annoying glitch with the new format.

Morning @RawBloomers. We've looked into this again now. Unfortunately this is a limitation of the posting software used on our platform. It isn’t configurable or fixable from our side, so we’re not able to make this change ourselves. We do understand why people would like this changed, but it isn’t something we're able to resolve at the moment, sadly.

Sorry we can't do more here.

@mnhqare you able to do anything on font size?
I have been struggling to read using the app.

It doesn't happen on the mobile site (thank goodness).

I hate all forms of auto formatting and am glad to hear this won't be changing.
