Distressing ads

HQ, this morning my ads half way down my screen are about the dog meat trade. Is this really necessary advertising? I know it happens but I don’t want to see the adverts as I am reading through mumsnet.

OP, the adverts you are seeing are based on your cookies and browsing habits. They are not directly produced by MN. Everybody sees different adverts.

That sounds awful @squarepegroudhole !

@TY78910 - MN have stated in the past that while they don't control what is shown, they do have the power to block individual ones so it is definitely worth bringing it to their attention.

I doubt the OP is regularly searching for dog meat TBF.

No, but could have watched a video from PETA, or read an article on puppies being rescued from a local shed that were kept in bad conditions. The adverts aren’t always directly related.

I hope they do block them and no, there is nothing in my search history remotely close to what I have seen this morning.

Hi there @squarepegroudhole . Sorry - this one slipped past us! Are you still seeing these ads? If so, could you possibly send us a screenshot of the ad with the name of the advertiser and, better still, a click-through link to the url of the ad itself. That will help us to track it down quickly. It would also be useful to know what time you last saw it, which page or thread of the site you saw it on and what sort of device and browser you are using.

Thank you! Flowers
