TECH HELP! No matter how low my security settings, it objects to mumsnet now

What have you changed?

First I thought I was banned or something,
then I thought it was my new skype phone installation that had changed my security settings. Well, I have uninstalled my phone, turned off my firewall, set all my security settings to "low", made mumsnet a trusted site, disabled keyword filter, and mumsnet is still not passing my security. What have you done! Help! I want to rewind 3-4 days and be able to browse threads, post and reply without having to restart and fiddle about with my security settings, it is driving me MAD!!!

But I bet if I go out, and try to come back to this thread, it will! I am on, and off, and on and off, can make one post on a thread, or two, and it wont let me go back without restarting everything.

Have you got Protowall? Mumsnet won't work for me when Protowall's on.

I was having trouble with MN all day for the half hour I was on it yesterday

PillockOfTheCommunity · 18/05/2008 11:29

Lapin, you need to look here!

I have managed to get back in, but only after I have disabled McAfee.....

do you eman you disabled Mcafee internet security? don't worry about that - it's a paranoid and excessive programme anyway. you should make sure the antivirus only is on if you can though.

QuintessentialShadows · 18/05/2008 17:15

Yes, I disabled it, but then it wouldnt allow me to go to "threads I am on", anyway, so I am not sure what is going on. Hours later it will let me post once or twice...

qs - can you post now? if not, it's probably you're privacy settings in your browser which are too high (you want medium or even medium low. the high settings are too high)

AbbyMumsnet · 21/05/2008 13:53

Hi - I'll let them know about this.
