I’ve brought this up on some of the other threads about the new app. The reply is that they can’t fix it because of the ‘framework’ they used. I think they’ve made a fundamental error in their design, rendering posts as ‘dead’ text you can’t interact with at all - the same reason you can’t copy a bit of text.
Im really puzzled how this didn’t get picked up earlier - maybe beta testers were focussed on testing new functionality rather than just using it normally? Or maybe there weren’t enough of a range of people using it. Or maybe by the point it got to beta test it was already too late to go back to the drawing board on this.
I think maybe the app redesigners had a list of what features needed to be added but didn’t realise the ability to select for copying and looking up was something users valued - we don’t mention stuff we use that works!
