MN using AI to alter our posts?

Just seen someone comment on a thread that MN is using AI to finish sentences, and they said they needed to edit to correct load of mistakes.

Is this true? Can you tell us more about it?

It sounds more like autocorrect on the posters end than ai on mumsnets.

Yes, going by some of the almost illegible posts I've read lately, either AI is really bad or MN aren't using it routinely.

Mumsnet doesn’t use AI to write or modify posts. If posters are seeing unexpected changes to text, it’s likely due to the device’s autocorrect or predictive text settings rather than anything on our end. These features are built into most keyboards and can sometimes alter words in ways you don’t expect.

If you do have trouble with this then it might be worth checking keyboard settings or trying a different device or browser. If it's something other than this then we'd need to see a screen recording to understand what's going on - because nothing on our end should cause text to change.

I saw the post mentioned too and I am pleased to hear it's not the case. Apart from anything else, what would be the point in MN doing that?

It’s the AI on phones doing it. Mine often does, it’s like autocorrect

My new iPhone has Apple Intelligence and does this all the time. It’s not bloody MN 😂

Thank you @HebeMumsnet for clarifying. So glad it's not mn doing it. I was getting ready to be all het up about it but thought I should check first, glad I did 😁

My work emails have started doing that. Begin to type in someone's email address and it assumes I've made a typo and corrects it to something else. Very annoying.
